12/5/2020 |【7979 COVID19 Disaster Response Strategy】| Updated news @ 6 May 2020
The Movement Control Order (MCO ) has been extended numerous times, and there are increasingly more people seeking for help. We are now planning for the second stage of relief strategy as follows: 1) Increase the budget for special relief assistance according to the needs in the community. 2) Implement Manna Food Bank project in high-demand areas and enhance capability of partner churches to serve their communities. 3) The pandemic has affected many Christian institutions and social & Care workers. We hope that we can look after the welfare of these co-workers so that they are in good position to continue to support and care for the needs of the community. 4) The Pastoral Intercession Hotline will continue until the end of CMCO on 9/6/2020. 5) Continue to release pandemic preventive measures and information on Facebook and website. As there’s still massive needs in the community and donation are still forth coming, we have decided to continue to accept donations after 5/5/2020 and channel such collections to “Co- workers care & welfare fund”. |

02/05/2020 | HISTEAM has successfully raised and met the target of The 7979 COVID-19 Disaster Response Fund (CDRF) of RM616,000.
As there’s still massive needs in the community while the donations are still forth coming, we have decided to: 1) continue accepting the donations and contribution; 2) increase the allocation towards CDRF budget; 3) allocate donations received after 5/5/2020 to “Co-worker Care & Welfare Fund”. This Covid19 pandemic has negatively impacted many Christian institutions and care workers. We desire to look after their welfare so that they can continue to care and support our communities. |

On 1st May 2020, during his Labour Day Speech, our prime minister announced that most of the sector will be allowed to start operation on Monday 4 May 2020, but they must follow SOP strictly and maintain “new norm”. As such, 7979 continue to promote the three basic principles: maintain social distance, good personal hygiene and create friendly environment. We urged everyone to do proper protection and adapt the “new norm”. |

The 1st distribution of Kuantan held during this critical period. Our care station distributed these life saving food to the hand of the under privilege family, making them felt the warmth of care in the midst of chaos. |

All the 134 Care Stations throughout Malaysia is ready to offer certain care and assistance to the poor and vulnerable families. Histeam and 7979 will continue to provide support for churches to apply for emergency bailouts funds and manna food bags during the MCO period. |

25/03/2020 | Posted personal hygiene products to 7979 Care Stations and Social Caring NGOs.
7979 Holistic Care Relief Network has provided free 3-ply surgical masks and 500 ml of disinfectant hand sanitizer to bless its 7979 Care Stations and institutions that provide accommodation services for vulnerable groups. All these items were sent out by post. As of March 25, a total of 44 applicants have received the goods while another 6 are still pending. |

At the same time when the government announced the MCO, 7979 has formulated a response to Covid-19 by preparing 3 ply surgical masks and 500ml hand sanitisers. Ready for 7979 Care Stations and other Caring institutions to apply. |

This is to facilitate and enhance support and communication between care agencies, social workers and churches in all States and districts. So that units and organizations can maintain contact and share resources, it is a platform for mutual collaboration between institutions and churches. |
15/02/2020 | 7979 and 7979 Holistic Care Stations distributed Hand Sanitizers to Schools.
7979 and 2 partner churches saw the need for Covid-19 prevention and each donated 100 bottles of hand sanitizers (200 in total) and distributed them 2 Chinese Primary School. This is act of love to the community. |
