她  渴望改变

兰妮（化名）是一名成年印裔女性，患有思觉失调症（精神分裂症状之一）和抑郁症。自从患病，她就被迫送养女儿，只能孤身投靠于已婚的侄儿。寄人篱下的日子自然是无奈，除了有个瓦遮头休息和睡觉，兰妮还要面对侄儿指手画脚，看人的脸色战兢地生活。

兰妮虽住在侄儿家，但需要负责自己的伙食，她也因精神问题无法工作，时常过着三餐不继的生活。当她缺钱的时候，她就会去在信义会加影堂7979全人关怀站，希望说服牧师给她零花钱。患病的缘故，兰妮的手脚经常不由自主地摇动，仿佛在手舞足蹈。大部分会友都认识她，林光汉牧师偶尔也会带她出去吃饭，她吃了一份，再打包一份，留作下一餐。

后来，林牧师深入了解兰妮的情况，并认为需要迫切帮助她缓解三餐不继的困境。于是，牧师为她申请7979吗哪食物包。7979吗哪食物银行的特点之一“亲送到府，全人关怀”。经过几次家访，兰妮的基本生活需要得到帮助，林牧师也借此认识了兰妮的侄儿和他的太太。

兰妮的侄儿有酗酒的问题，夫妻俩也经常起争执。在林牧师的引导之下，侄儿开始摆脱酗酒的恶习，他的太太不再对他大呼小叫。为了给孩子过更好的生活，侄儿的太太重新步入职场。一家人逐渐建立稳定的经济基础，间接改善了家庭的关系。

过去，兰妮经常请牧师为她祷告，希望她的生命能得着改变。如今，她正在经历生命的改变，她很欢喜也很满足。一份装满生活粮食辅助的食物包，可以为弱势群体减轻生活负担；一份愿意带着无色眼光去关怀的心，能够为最不起眼的小子带来祝福。

注：7979吗哪食物包的设立是为弱势家庭提供粮食辅助，也借此在生活上关心和陪伴他们。

She is Longing for a Change

Rani (pseudonym) is an Indian woman who suffers from Schizophreniform Disorder (a type of Schizophrenia) and Depression. Since she was sick, she has been forced to give up her daughter for adoption and ended up sheltered under her married nephew. Sheltered under other’s roof was surely an unpleasant experience, other than the fact that she at least had a roof over her head to sleep and rest,  Rani had to cope with her nephew’s mood and every day she would live in fear and trembling.

Although Rani lives at her nephew’s house, she still has to prepare meals herself. Since she is unable to work due to her mental problems, it is quite common that she just can’t produce three meals a day. Whenever she was short of money, she would go to the Holistic Care Station at LCM Kajang Lutheran Church, hoping to convince the pastor to give her some pocket money. As a result of her illness, her arms and legs often shook uncontrollably, as if she were dancing with her hands. Most members of the congregation knew her, and occasionally Rev. Ling would take her out to eat, she would eat one meal and pack another as her next meal.

After a while, when Rev. Ling learnt more about Rani’s situation and became concerned about her inconsistent daily three meals, he saw the need to deal with this condition. So, on behalf of Rani, Rev. Ling applied for the 7979 Manna Food Bags for her.  One of the distinctive features of the 7979 Manna Food Bank is “Home Delivery and Holistic Care.” After several visitations, Rani’s basic needs were met. Rev. Ling also got to know Rani’s nephew and his wife.

Rani’s nephew had drinking problem and the couple had frequent arguments. Under Rev. Ling’s guidance, the nephew began to get rid of his drinking problem and his wife also stopped yelling at him. In order to provide a better life for their children, his wife started working too. The family gradually built up a stable financial base, which indirectly improved the family’s relationship.

In the past, Rani often requested her pastor to pray for a change in her life. Today, she is experiencing those changes in her life, and she is very joyful and content about it. A food bag filled with food for supplementary purposes can also ease the burden of life for the underprivileged. A willing heart that disregards the colour of the aid recipients, can bring blessings to the least of these.

Note: The 7979 Manna Food Bags were set up to provide food assistance to underprivileged families, to care for and accompany them in their daily lives.
